Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has refused to take individual praise after another outstanding performance for Trabzonspor on Friday night, Soccernet.ng reports.
The tall forward scored the opening goal and later assisted fellow Nigerian Chibuike Nwaiwu as Trabzonspor secured a comfortable 3-1 home victory against Fatih Karagümrük in the Trendyol Süper Lig.
Onuachu has enjoyed an excellent season and currently leads the league’s scoring chart. His goals have kept Trabzonspor firmly in the title race, with the club sitting third behind Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe.

Despite his personal success, the Super Eagles forward insisted that teamwork remains the key reason behind the club’s strong form.
Speaking to beIN Sports via t24 after the match, Onuachu said:
“We started the game a bit slowly. At halftime, we talked with our teammates and coach in the locker room. We discussed the need to increase our energy and give more. After that conversation, the team reacted well and we managed to get the three points.
“As a striker, you have to use your skills to help your team. That's what I try to do. I can't achieve this without my teammates. More credit should go to my teammates than to my goals.”

Trabzonspor’s goals came through Onuachu in the 20th minute before Nwaiwu struck twice early in the second half to seal victory and keep the club’s championship hopes alive.
Paul Onuachu: Record-breaking form fuels title ambitions
Onuachu’s goal also placed him firmly in Trabzonspor history. According to Turkish sports daily Fanatik, the Nigerian extended his scoring streak to six consecutive league matches, a new club record.
He surpassed the previous mark of five games held by former striker and current coach Fatih Tekke, while also going past notable scoring runs recorded by Shota Arveladze and Paulo Henrique.

Tekke achieved his five-game streak during the 2004–05 season, scoring against Malatyaspor, Gençlerbirliği, Denizlispor, Gaziantepspor and Sakaryaspor before later repeating a similar run later that campaign.
Onuachu now has 18 league goals in just 21 appearances, seven of them headers, clear proof of his dominance in the air. Since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, the former FC Ebedei academy graduate has scored in every match he has played, registering eight goals across league and cup competitions.
Against Fatih Karagümrük, he also showed his all-round quality by setting up Nwaiwu with a headed assist before the Nigerian defender completed the 3-1 victory in the 50th minute.
With momentum building and rivals dropping points in recent weeks, Onuachu’s remarkable form is giving Trabzonspor renewed belief that the Süper Lig title race may still have more twists ahead.
