I tested the Melbet app on both Android and iOS and was impressed by its thoughtful design and under 1 second loading times.
This app satisfies my mobile betting needs, including in-play betting, biometric login and Nigerian payment support. Available for download on both Android and iOS, my in-depth testing reveals that the Melbet app is one of the best online betting apps in Nigeria.
Melbet App Pros & Cons
- Biometric login (Face ID & fingerprint)
- Push notifications
- 3G-optimised HD livestreaming
- Fast crypto withdrawals (BTC, USDT, ETH)
- Lightweight app with smooth UX
- Embedded local payments (Opay, Paystack, Monnify)
- Some older slots don’t scale well on mobile
- No in-app deposit limits or self-exclusion
- In-app support can be unresponsive
Melbet App Download Requirements
Before installing the Melbet app, check your device against the minimum requirements below.
Unlike the 1xBet app, which requires more recent OS versions and significantly more storage space, Melbet is lightweight and functions well even on mid-range Android devices running Android 4.1.
The iOS version is heavier, but far more stable than comparable apps like BC Game, which frequently crash during live streams.
Here’s what you need to know before installing:
| Android | iOS | |
|---|---|---|
| App Size | 25.8 MB | 274 MB |
| Latest Version | v1.04 | v4.5 |
| Storage Space Needed | 150 MB | 200 MB |
| Operating System Compatibility | Android 4.1 or later | iOS 14.0 or later |
| Device Compatibility | Phones and tablets | iPhones and iPads |
Both the Melbet Android and iOS app versions support secure biometric access, a feature still missing on many Nigerian betting apps.
It’s also important to note that both app versions support push notifications for live odds, results, and bonus alerts.
How to Download the Melbet APK for Android
The Melbet app isn't listed on the Google Play Store. This is due to a restriction Google applies to real-money betting apps generally, not specific to Melbet.

However, the Melbet APK download and installation process from the official site is straightforward and safe. The Melbet mobile site even offers a checksum to verify the authenticity of the APK file.
Here's how to download the Melbet APK Android app directly from the official website at melbet.ng:
Melbet APK Download for Android
- Visit the official Melbet Nigeria website using your Android device.
- Scroll down and tap the Android App button or go to the Mobile Applications area.
- Your device may warn about unknown files. Just tap OK to proceed.
- Go to your Settings > Security, and enable Install from Unknown Sources.
- Tap the downloaded APK file and follow the prompts to install.
From download to install, the process took under two minutes in my test, with no permissions requested beyond installation and update access.
Tip: If you get stuck, refresh the Melbet mobile page. And make sure you haven’t got the pop-up blocker activated in your browser settings.
How to Download the Melbet Mobile App on iOS
The Melbet iOS app installs directly from the Apple App Store in under two minutes. In my testing, install time was shorter than the 1xBet app, which has a larger file size.

I also found the iOS version to be almost identical to the Android version in terms of features, speed, and interface. You’ll also find that live betting, push notifications, and account security tools all work well on your iPhone or iPad.
Melbet iOS App Download:
- Go to the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
- Look for Melbet Sports Betting and tap on the result ( make sure you download the legit app published by OTRADA HOSPITALITY LIMITED (NG))
- Tap Get and confirm using Face ID, Touch ID, or your Apple ID password.
- Wait for the app to install (under 60MB).
- Open the app and sign in or create a new account.
Tip: If you can’t find the app on your local App Store, visit Melbet’s site at melbet.ng and follow the prompts to download or use the web version via Safari.
Melbet App Top Betting Features
The Melbet mobile app is full of valuable tools for Nigerian punters.
Compared to the BC Game app or the web-based interface of the NairaBet Android app, Melbet delivers a great betting experience with real-time live streams, instant odds boosts, and flexible multi-bet tools.
I found that switching between markets mid-match was faster and less buggy than on the previously mentioned apps, which suffer from reload delays.
Here are the top features of the Melbet app I was most impressed by:
| Feature | Description | Reason to love this feature |
|---|---|---|
| Bet Builder | Combine multiple selections from the same game | Gives you more control, better odds, and access to creative betting |
| Live Streaming | Watch matches live in the app | Real-time data and visuals make for smarter in-play betting |
| Push Notifications | Instant alerts for bets, goals, and bonuses | Never miss an opportunity and always stay informed |
| Cash Out | Lock in profit or cut losses before the end of the match | Gives you flexibility and control over your bets |
| Local Payments | Deposits via Paystack, Flutterwave, Opay and others | Fast, reliable, and tailored to Nigerian users |
Bet Builder
Melbet's Bet Builder combines selections from a single match (corners, bookings, BTTS, full-time result) comparable in scope to Betano's Bet Builder.
Testing top fixtures like Real Madrid vs. PSG at the Club World Cup, I could build more combinations on Melbet than on Betway, which is limited mostly to basic match outcomes. Betano still has a wider bet builder range for NBA and tennis markets, which Melbet doesn't currently offer.
Live Streaming
Live streaming held up on a throttled 3G connection during an EPL fixture involving Chelsea, no buffering while placing in-play bets. That's close to SportyBet's streaming stability, and noticeably better than Bet9ja's live visualisations in the same test conditions.
Push Notifications
You can tailor notifications to alert you for events such as goals, winning bets, promo drops, and account updates. I also recommend that you set up alerts for early cashout offers and boosted odds so you don’t miss out on extra value.
Cash Out
Melbet’s cash out feature gives you the power to settle bets early, to lock in profit or cut your losses, and it's available on singles and multis.
This feature gives you more control, particularly on accumulators and is available on more markets than the Bet9ja and 1xBet cashout. I found the Melbet app cashout tool was faster with clearer availability prompts.
Local Payment Methods
I liked Melbet’s support for Nigerian payment methods. The app allows you to fund your account using 12+ options, including Paystack, Flutterwave, OPay, debit cards and bank transfers.
In this regard, the Melbet app provides more payment flexibility than AccessBet or NairaBet.
Melbet is also one of the few Nigerian betting apps to offer cryptocurrency transactions.
You can deposit and withdraw using BTC, USDT, or ETH, giving you the option to receive your payout in 1 to 15 minutes, depending on the blockchain load.
How to Register on the Melbet App
Signing up on the Melbet app is very straightforward; in fact, the entire registration process takes less than two minutes.

You can sign up with your phone number, email, social logins or via the one-click option:
- Open the Melbet app and tap Register.
- Select a registration method (phone number is the fastest).
- Fill in your details, including your name, phone number, currency, choose a secure password, and insert a valid promo code MELNIG in the promo code field.
- Enter the confirmation code sent to your number.
- Congrats, you’re registered! Now you can explore the app or claim your bonus.
Tip: Use the same phone number linked to your BVN for quicker verification during withdrawals.
Melbet App Welcome Bonus
Using the Melbet promo code MELNIG during registration you can get a welcome offer: 200% up to ₦320,000 on your first deposit, with a minimum deposit of ₦455 to activate.
At ₦455, the minimum deposit is low relative to bonuses of this size. Paripesa's new-player offer requires a ₦1,500 minimum deposit for a bonus worth up to ₦230,000, a higher entry cost for a lower maximum payout.
The wagering side is less accessible: Paripesa's comparable offer requires 5x rollover at 1.40 odds, against Melbet's 8x at 2.10 odds on 3+ selections. The low deposit threshold makes the offer easy to start; the rollover terms make it easier to clear for bettors already used to building accumulators at those odds than for casual, single-bet players.
Full usage details are in our Melbet Review.
Melbet App Login
Melbet login for the Android and iOS app is easy, and the process is secured by several layers of technology. You can log in using these methods:

Melbet Login Methods:
- Phone number with password
- Email with password
- Biometric login (Face ID/fingerprint)
The app remembers your credentials, and the biometric login option allows you to access your account instantly.
If you log in from a new device, you may see a CAPTCHA pop up, but this should only happen once and isn’t a big inconvenience.
Steps to Login in the Melbet App
- Go to the homepage of the app.
- Tap on Login.
- Insert your details, either phone or email.
- Type in your password.
- You're in.
Sports Betting on the Melbet App
The sports betting features on Melbet are sufficiently localised for Nigerian bettors, with deep football market coverage and an easy-to-use interface.
You’ll find all the big leagues (EPL, La Liga, UCL), as well as local football covered. Each league also comes with extensive betting markets.

I found over 200 different betting options per event, including regulars like 1×2, over/under, and corners, as well as markets like Asian handicaps, player props, and card bets. That’s more markets than you’ll find at BetKing.
The odds are also competitive, comparable to NairaBet's football odds in my tests.
I also liked the live betting experience on Melbet. The visual tracker, stats, and cashout tool make betting in-play on Melbet ideal, as you can make informed bets and cashout instantly if things aren’t going as expected.
Plus, when you’re ready to place a bet, the process is smooth and straightforward
How to Place a Bet
- Open the Melbet app and tap Sports on the bottom menu.
- Use the top menu to pick your league (e.g. EPL, NPFL).
- Select a match and explore the available markets.
- Tap the outcome/odds you want to bet on.
- Enter your stake and tap Place Bet to confirm.
Melbet App Casino
If you use the Melbet app, you also get full access to the Casino section, just like the web version. You’ll find 6000+ games, including slots, jackpot games, live dealer tables, roulette, blackjack, and baccarat.
Virtually all the top game developers are represented (I counted 50 and particularly enjoyed Sweet Bonanza, a classic title from Pragmatic Play).
The gaming experience on the app is pleasant, with no lag or glitches. The newer slots and the live casino games also ran well.
Unfortunately, I found that some older slots felt outdated and didn’t adapt well to smaller screens. So, the web version still delivers a better experience in this regard.
Melbet App Mobile Payment Options
Melbet offers one of the best mixes of local and international payment options of any Nigerian betting app.
Unlike BetKing, where some payment options depend on web redirects or external pages, Melbet's payment methods are fully embedded within the app, meaning you can deposit and withdraw without breaking your betting session.
I tested deposits using Opay, Flutterwave and Paystack, and all were processed instantly, much faster than SportyBet, which still occasionally delays during peak traffic.
If you’re a cryptocurrency user, you'll appreciate the excellent wallet integration as well. My USDT withdrawal was processed in under 2 hours, whereas similar crypto payouts on Paripesa took closer to 6–12 hours.
Melbet App Deposit Methods:
- OPay
- Flutterwave
- Paystack
- Monnify
- Bank transfer (GTBank, Zenith, etc.)
- Visa / Mastercard
- USSD payments
- Bitcoin & other crypto
- ePay Wallets
Withdrawal Methods:
- Bank transfer (most major Nigerian banks)
- OPay
- Flutterwave
- Crypto wallets
Compared to the web version, the Melbet app is faster for deposits and withdrawals, thanks to saved credentials and a cleaner interface.
Customer Support Access via the App
The Melbet app offers 24/7 live chat support, which you can access easily from the side menu. Here’s what you need to know about the service:
- Response time: Less than two minutes when we tested it
- Features: You can attach screenshots or files when chatting.
- Limitations: On slower devices, the chat window can freeze.
Bonus: The in-app FAQ section covers most basic issues.
Additionally, you can reach them via email at [email protected] if you are unable to resolve the issue in-app.

My main criticism of Melbet is the absence of a local phone number for urgent issues. However, the in-app live chat compensates adequately, and connects users to real support staff, who are generally helpful and polite.
I didn’t experience any problems with the live chat feature in the Melbet app. However, it is important to mention that some users have reported minor delays in the service, particularly late at night.
App Security Features
Based on my thorough hands-on testing, I can confirm that the Melbet mobile app prioritises mobile security. Here are some of the notable security features:
- Biometric login supported: Face ID and fingerprint work smoothly.
- Auto logout: You’ll be logged out automatically after 15 to 20 minutes of inactivity.
- Session controls: You can manage trusted devices from account settings.
The one drawback I found was that you can’t set spending limits or session gaming reminders from the app. This has to be done from the desktop site.
Tip: I recommend enabling the biometric login option, as this gives you a safer and faster playing experience
Melbet Mobile App vs Web Version
The app loads faster and navigates more fluidly between markets than the web version in testing. Push notifications and biometric login are app-exclusive. Some payment gateways and older casino games still run better on web.
Net assessment based on testing: the app is the better choice for in-play football betting specifically, given the notification and biometric features.

Some key features, such as push notifications and the biometric login option, are exclusive to the app. That said, the web version does have its strengths.
What’s better on the app:
- Faster loading
- Custom notifications
- Biometric login for better security
What works better on the web version:
- Some payment gateways
- Older casino games
While the web version has some good points, the Melbet app offers the better betting experience in my opinion.
Melbet Mobile App: Final Thoughts
Across testing, the Melbet app's strongest points were local payment integration, bet builder depth, and live-streaming stability on slower connections. The clearest gap is the lack of in-app deposit limits or self-exclusion tools, worth flagging directly for readers who care about responsible gambling controls, rather than burying it only in the cons list.
Older casino games are better optimised on web than in the app.
Overall, I strongly recommend the Melbet app for anyone who bets regularly on their mobile phone in Nigeria.
