Nigeria U-23 goalkeeper, Nathaniel Ikechukwu Nwosu, is garnering attention from several top clubs around Europe, including Stoke City and Nottingham Forest, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 19-year-old represented the Flying Eagles at the WAFU B U-20 Championship. He recently signed a short-term deal with Scottish Feeder League side, Tayport FC.

According to The Courier, Nwosu is currently being monitored by Nottingham Forest, Stoke City, and SPFL side, St. Johnstone.

The report revealed the 203 cm-tall goalkeeper travelled down to Stoke for a trial just a few days after he penned a deal with Tayport.

Additionally, he's also been on the books of Ola Aina‘s Nottingham Forest as well. He spent a few weeks at the City Ground on trial, but nothing concrete has happened.

While he's signed to Tayport, Nwosu is currently on trial with SPFL side, St. Johnstone, taking part in the first team's training for the first time yesterday.

Stoke City’s focus at the moment is on preserving their Championship status for another year. However, they're keeping tabs on Nwosu, if conditions arise for them to bring in another goalkeeper ahead of next season.

The 19-year-old has played for Nigeria at the U-20 and U-23 levels and was called up to the senior team for their 2022 AFCON qualifiers against Ghana. He made his Super Eagles B(home-based players) debut in 2022, replacing Remo Stars' Kayode Bankole to play the final sixteen minutes of Nigeria's 2-0 loss to Costa Rica.
