Ola Aina’s contract at Forest expires in June: Top four destinations for the Eagles star

Super Eagles defender Ola Aina could be on the move this summer as his contract with Nottingham Forest nears its end in June 2025, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 27-year-old full-back joined Forest on a one-year deal in July 2023 after stints with Torino, Fulham, and Chelsea.

Since arriving at the City Ground, Aina has impressed with his performance across both flanks—traits that have reportedly caught the attention of several Premier League giants.

With the summer transfer window fast approaching and no renewal agreed yet, here are four possible destinations for the Nigerian international:

1. Liverpool

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Liverpool have added Ola Aina to their summer transfer shortlist.

The Reds are reportedly looking to add depth to their full-back positions, particularly given concerns over Trent Alexander-Arnold’s move away from the club at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, the experience of the Super Eagles star could be a good fit for Arne Slot.

2. Chelsea

A return to Stamford Bridge is also on the cards. Aina is a product of Chelsea’s famed Cobham Academy and still maintains strong ties with the club.

With Reece James struggling with fitness issues in recent seasons, Chelsea could consider reuniting with their former academy talent on a free transfer to reinforce their defensive options.

3. Newcastle United

The Magpies are building a squad with depth for both domestic and European ambitions. Eddie Howe’s side has suffered from injuries in defence this season, and Aina’s Premier League experience, coupled with his ability to play on either flank, could make him an ideal rotational player for the Tyneside outfit.

4. Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs are another club reportedly monitoring Aina’s situation. With Ange Postecoglou looking to reshape his defence and bring in players who fit his team, Aina could be a reliable and affordable option, especially given his excellent one-on-one defending and attacking support down the wings.
