Osimhen looks set to pen a new deal at Napoli this summer, but he is yet to agree on terms with the club
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is demanding a pay of ₦8billion yearly before he agrees to sign an extension, Soccernet reports.
Osimhen has been one of Napoli’s best performers in the last two years. He was key to their Scudetto win last season, scoring 26 goals in the run-up to their triumph. The 24-year-old hitman also scored five goals in the UEFA Champions League to help the Partenopeans reach the quarterfinals for the first time.
Because of his brilliance, Osimhen has emerged as a transfer target for some top European clubs. Manchester United, Chelsea, PSG, and Bayern Munich have been linked with the Nigerian hitman, but Napoli have held their ground. The Serie A kings would only accept a fee north of €120million.
The club is even looking to extend Osimhen’s contract till the summer of 2027, as his current deal will expire at the end of next season.
To make the move happen, Napoli would have to increase their salary. The Nigerian striker currently makes €6million(₦6billion) per year, but the Serie A champions want to increase his pay to €7million yearly.
However, Tutto Napoli reports that Osimhen is demanding €8million(₦8billion) per year before he agrees on a new contract.
Osimhen seems to be comfortable in Naples, and it is expected that both parties will conclude soon.
This is the biggest number I know.
