​According to reports, Galatasaray has lined up a few incentives for Victor Osimhen before the season kicks off. The club plans to hand him the captain's armband and the number nine jersey following the departure of Mauro Icardi, who is leaving the club after a four-year stint.

​Osimhen has worn the number 9 shirt since his days at Napoli, but he was unable to take the number upon joining Galatasaray due to Icardi’s presence. As a result, he wore number 14.
