South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns are exploring a move for Super Eagles defender Olisa Ndah, with discussions understood to be at an advanced stage, Soccernet.ng reports.
According to SoccerBeat ZA, the Betway Premiership giants are weighing up a deal for the 28-year-old centre-back, who is currently a free agent after leaving Stellenbosch at the end of last season.
While negotiations are said to be progressing positively, no agreement has been finalised.
The development comes just weeks after Ndah's representatives confirmed that the former Orlando Pirates defender was attracting interest from clubs both within South Africa and abroad following the expiration of his short-term contract at Stellenbosch.

Mamelodi Sundowns could offer Ndah another shot at the top
Ndah has endured a difficult spell over the past two years after suffering a series of injuries that disrupted what had previously been an impressive rise in the PSL.
Having joined Orlando Pirates from Akwa United in 2021, the defender established himself as a key figure in the Buccaneers' backline before recurring fitness issues after breaking his tibia and fibula derailed his progress.
Following his departure from Pirates, Ndah signed a six-month deal with Stellenbosch in a bid to revive his career. However, after making only seven appearances, the club opted against extending his stay.

His agent, Mike Makaab, later revealed that there was interest from the Middle East, although concerns over regional instability meant they were carefully considering every available option.
Now, Mamelodi Sundowns have emerged as a serious destination, potentially handing the Nigerian international the opportunity to remain in the PSL while competing for domestic honours and continental success, considering they've won the CAF Champions League twice.

Super Eagles defender remains on transfer radar
Earlier this summer, Ndah was also linked with clubs in the Middle East after becoming a free agent, although reports connecting him with Libyan side Al Shomooa were swiftly dismissed by his agent.
The defender has also previously attracted interest from Saudi Arabia, with his camp insisting the priority is to find a stable environment where he can play consistently after recovering fully from his injury setbacks.

A move to Sundowns would satisfy that objective while allowing Ndah to remain in familiar surroundings, having spent the last five years playing in South Africa.
The transfer could also strengthen his chances of returning to Eric Chelle's Super Eagles plans ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign, with regular football likely to be a key factor in the selection decisions of the Franco-Malian tactician.
For now, negotiations remain ongoing, with Sundowns yet to reach a final agreement for the three-cap Nigeria international.
