Valencia vs Atlético Madrid: How to watch Lookman and Sadiq from Nigeria

Valencia welcome Atlético Madrid to the famous Mestalla Stadium on Saturday afternoon in a La Liga Round 34 fixture that carries importance at both ends of the table, Soccernet.ng reports.

Kick-off is set for 15:15 WAT, and for Nigerian fans, this match offers a rare chance to watch two Super Eagles forwards, Umar Sadiq and Ademola Lookman, go head-to-head in one of Spain’s biggest fixtures.

Atlético Madrid arrive in fourth place with 60 points and remain in the hunt for a strong finish, while Valencia sit 12th on 39 points and are aiming to end the season on a high note.

Recent form paints a mixed picture. Valencia have picked up two wins from their last five matches, including a spirited 2-1 victory over Girona. Atlético, meanwhile, have found league wins harder to come by, managing just one victory in five, though their European performances have kept confidence high.

Much of the pre-match focus will be on Lookman, who has made an electric impact since joining Atlético in February. The Nigerian forward has quickly become one of the team’s most dangerous attacking players, contributing 10 goals and assists in just 17 appearances. His recent performances have been decisive, including a crucial goal that helped eliminate Barcelona from the Champions League.

Sadiq, on the other hand, is quietly building momentum at Valencia. Since arriving from Real Sociedad in January, he has grown into a key figure in attack. The striker has scored in his last two La Liga games, against Girona and Mallorca, and is beginning to show the sharpness that once made him one of Nigeria’s most promising forwards.

History favours Atlético Madrid in this fixture. They have won four of the last five meetings between the sides, including a 2-1 victory earlier this season. But Valencia’s recent improvement, combined with Sadiq’s form, suggests this contest could be more balanced than usual.
