Terem Moffi could be on the move this winter as Turkish giants Besiktas step up their search for a new striker following the departure of former Chelsea man Tammy Abraham, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Istanbul club are reshaping their squad midway through the season and have been informed of the availability of the Super Eagles forward, according to Turkish outlet NTV Spor.
Talks are still at an early stage, but sources in Turkey suggest Besiktas have already made contact to understand the conditions of a possible deal.

Moffi’s situation at OGC Nice has become increasingly uncertain after a difficult few weeks in France. The 26-year-old has been frozen out following a turbulent spell that included an alleged confrontation with supporters during a poor run of results. That episode badly damaged his relationship with the fanbase and appears to have accelerated plans for a separation.
Those close to the player say he is now open to a new challenge and has made it clear he wants to leave Nice. While he had previously been linked with a move to the English Premier League, Turkey has now emerged as a serious option, especially with Besiktas keen to move quickly to solve their attacking problems.

For Besiktas, the appeal is obvious. Moffi remains highly regarded in Ligue 1 for his strength, pace and ability to attack space, qualities that once made him one of the most feared strikers in the French league.

Terem Moffi: Ligue 1 exit looms
Moffi joined Nice in the 2023/24 season from Lorient for a fee reported to be around €22.5 million after building a strong reputation as a reliable goalscorer in France. Across his career, which has also taken him through Belgium and the Baltic states, he has scored 86 goals in 213 matches.

His time at Nice, however, has recently been overshadowed by off-field tension. After a 3-1 defeat away to Lorient earlier in the season, angry supporters reportedly confronted the team, with Moffi and Jeremie Boga among those said to have been targeted. The French footballers’ union later issued a statement of support for the players involved.
That incident seems to have marked a turning point. Nice are now understood to be willing to listen to offers, while Besiktas are monitoring whether a cut-price deal, or even a contract termination, could open the door to a move.
Negotiations will depend on Nice’s final stance and on agreeing personal terms, but in Istanbul there is growing belief that Moffi could become one of the most eye-catching moves of the winter window, a chance for both player and club to start again.
