Super Eagles attacker Ademola Lookman has informed Atalanta that he wants to join Fenerbahce this month, Soccernet.ng reports.
Lookman's future has been hanging in the balance in the past year. Last summer, he was supposed to join Inter Milan, but the deal did not go through, as Atalanta blocked it.
That has affected the Super Eagles star's performances, as he has contributed three goals and two assists in 19 appearances across all competitions this season.
Nevertheless, Lookman still has admirers from different clubs across Europe. And this month, the competition has been between Fenerbahçe and Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.
The two clubs have scheduled meetings with Atalanta to try to cut a deal for the Super Eagles forward, but nothing concrete has emerged yet.
But according to reports from transfers expert Nicolo Schira, the Super Eagles star has made a decision on his next move. According to him, Lookman has informed Fenerbahce that he wants to join Fenerbahce and not Atletico Madrid.
The Turkish club have made a big money proposal to Lookman, offering him a €9 million per year pay, which is equivalent to ₦16 billion per year.

This is double of what he currently earns at Atalanta, and to make the offer sweeter, it is a four-year deal, which means Lookman will be earning €9 million until he is 32 years old.
Why Ademola Lookman Can't Join Fenerbahce Yet
Although Fenerbahce have agree on personal terms with Ademola Lookman. The major roadblock for a deal at the moment is the transfer fee.
Last summer, La Dea were asking for €50 million for the former Everton man. But due to his drop in performances, his price has dropped to €35 million.
In this deal, Atalanta value their pockets most, so that will he a huge determinant in Lookman's next destination.
Atletico Madrid are also seriously interested in acquiring his services, but they will have to convince Atalanta with a sizeable fee if they do not want the Turkish giants to search him.
Fenerbahce have a slight edge in the period of negotiations, as the transfer market in the country closes on February 6. So they have more time to negotiate and decide on the best deal for all the parties involved.
