Nigerian forward David Okereke could be on his way out of Cremonese before the close of the summer transfer window, with Rayo Vallecano and Cercle Brugge leading the chase for his signature, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 27-year-old has attracted strong interest following an impressive loan spell at Turkish side Gaziantep, where he scored nine goals in 30 appearances.

Back at Cremonese this season, he featured in their Coppa Italia exit to Palermo and played a key role in the club's surprise 2-1 win over Samuel Chukwueze's AC Milan in the Serie A opener at the weekend.

Despite his contributions, Cremonese are weighing up offers for the striker, who enjoys a decent record against José Mourinho.

According to CalcioCremonese, Vallecano’s opening €1 million bid was quickly rejected, with the Italian club valuing Okereke way more than those figures.

Per Africafoot, Cercle Brugge have also submitted a €3 million proposal to Cremonese in a bid to bring the former Club Brugge star back to Belgium.

Okereke, under contract until 2026, has so far registered 11 goals and five assists in Cremonese colours. The Nigerian attacker's performances in Italy and Turkey have kept him firmly on the radar of clubs across Europe, and his future could be resolved before the transfer deadline.

Sources close to the negotiations suggest Cercle Brugge are optimistic about finalising the deal, while Vallecano remain in the frame should talks stall.

Cremonese, however, insist they will not sanction a sale below their valuation, though they are open to negotiations if the right offer arrives.

Aside from Cremonese, Club Brugge and Gaziantep, Okereke has previously played for Spezia, Cosenza, Venezia, and Torino all in Italy.

On his CV, the former Nigeria youth international boasts 14 goals in Serie A, 12 in Serie B, and another 13 in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.
