One-capped Super Eagles midfielder Kingsley Michael is reportedly on the verge of sealing a move to Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 side, US Monastir, Soccernet.ng reports.
Michael, who last featured for DSV Leoben in Austria, has been without a club since the 2023-24 season campaign. However, he is now set to revive his career in North Africa.
Per reports from Africa Foot, the 25-year-old Nigerian midfielder has been in discussions with US Monastir, and it is suggested that an agreement is imminent.

Monastir are currently suggested as one of the teams chasing the Tunisian top flight league title with 33 points with 15 games and an outstanding yet to be played. Meanwhile, Stade Tunisien leads the league with 34 points after 16 games.
Further reports from Africa Foot suggest that the deal is meant to be completed today and an announcement made by the club as soon as possible.
This is a big move for Michael, who last featured for the Super Eagles during their 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Cape Verde, where Nigeria won with 2 goals to 1. A return to form could earn him a recall to the Super Eagles squad.
The former Nigeria U-20 midfielder has featured in the Italian and Austrian league scoring 3 goals and providing 7 assists in all through his career in Europe.
If the deal goes through, this will be Michael’s first stint in North African football, and it will give him an opportunity to rebuild his career while potentially putting himself back on the radar for international duty.
