Super Falcons goalkeeper, Cynthia Chiamaka Nnadozie, was delighted with her side's performance in their 3-0 win over Tunisia in their WAFCON Group B opener, Soccernet.ng reports.

Goals from Asisat Oshoala, Omorinsola Babajide and Chiwendu Ihezuo sealed all three points for Justin Madugu's side against the Eagles of Carthage.

While the former Paris FC goalkeeper didn't have much to do yesterday evening, Nnadozie was proud of her teammates' performance.

“I feel so good, it was a good beginning for us. Tunisia are not a bad side, we respect them so much, and as you saw, they put up a good fight, but today was for us.

“They were good, they were confident, they have good wingers. In the nearest future, they'll be competing at the highest level.

“We didn't have much to do at the back, but it's always good to stay concentrated because you never know what will happen,” the Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper said in an interview with Osasu Obayiuwana.

Quizzed if Nigeria's dreams of winning their tenth WAFCON tournament can be fulfilled, the CAF Women's Goalkeeper of the Year said;

“There are so many good teams in the competition and we don't know for now. We just have to take it game by game.

“There's no need to rush or think ahead. We'll focus on our next game. We had a very good game today, so if we continue like this, hopefully, mission X will be valid,” the 24-year-old said.

Nnadozie recent swapped France for England, leaving Paris FC to join WSL side, Brighton and Hove Albion, admitting it was a tough decision to make.

“It was difficult leaving Paris. Paris is like my second home like I'll always say. I spent five seasons there and they welcomed me so well.

“I feel like one of them already, but the time to move on has come. I've found a new home and hopefully it'll be a better home.

“I've not been there yet, but the Nigerians in Brighton have been sending me messages about how they can't wait to receive me, so it'll be a good one.

“Every team wants to improve on everything, but for now, I'm focused on the WAFCON tournament and we just want to win the trophy.”

After their good start against Tunisia, the Super Falcons will take on Botswana on Thursday at the Stade Larbi Zaouli in Casablanca.
