Paris FC have officially announced the signing of Super Eagles winger Moses Simon, a historic moment as the 29-year-old becomes the first Nigerian male footballer to sign for the French club, Soccernet.ng reports.

The move ends Simon’s six-year spell at Nantes, where he made 201 appearances, scored 37 goals, and registered 42 assists.

His final season with Les Canaris was particularly impressive — the Nigerian international delivered a career-best campaign with eight goals and 10 assists in 32 Ligue 1 games.

Paris FC confirmed the move on Wednesday via their official social media platforms. On X (formerly Twitter), the club posted:

“The Nigerian winger, with nearly 180 Ligue 1 matches under his belt, joins Paris FC until 2028.”

Nantes also bid farewell to their long-serving forward, stating:

“Moses Simon joins Paris FC. FC Nantes wishes Moses all the best in his future career and warmly thanks him for his loyalty to the Club. Thank you for everything, @Simon27Moses!”

In a heartfelt message shared just before the official announcement, Simon expressed his emotions about leaving:

“6 seasons giving it my all with heart ❤️ Sprints, crosses, thrills… and memories etched in Thank you FC Nantes, thank you Beaujoire. I leave with pride and a piece of this club in my heart.”

The transfer, reportedly valued at €7 million, is seen as a major coup for Paris FC, who earned promotion to Ligue 1 last season.

Simon completed his medical on Tuesday and is set to earn €75,000 per week — nearly double his previous wages at Nantes.

Simon’s arrival makes him the first Nigerian male player to join Paris FC. Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie had previously spent five years with the club’s women’s team before leaving this summer.

With 81 caps and 10 goals for Nigeria, Simon’s experience and versatility will be vital for Paris FC as they prepare for life in Ligue 1.
