Super Eagles star Frank Onyeka is attracting growing interest across Europe, with Fiorentina, Stuttgart and newly promoted Burnley all monitoring the industrious midfielder’s situation ahead of the 2025/26 season, Soccernet.ng reports.
Onyeka, 27, enjoyed a standout loan spell at Bundesliga side Augsburg last term, making 34 appearances and earning plaudits for his relentless energy, ball-winning ability, and tactical discipline. Though he registered just two assists, his value in shielding the back four and linking play did not go unnoticed.
His performances have sparked interest from Serie A giants Fiorentina, Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart, and Burnley as they prepare for life in the Premier League, according to transfer insider Ben Jacobs.
However, his parent club Brentford may be reluctant to let him go — particularly with club captain Christian Nørgaard reportedly close to joining Arsenal. The Gunners are finalising an €11 million deal, plus add-ons, to secure the Dane, who is seen as a long-term replacement for Ghana’s Thomas Partey.
Should Nørgaard leave, Brentford may be forced to keep Onyeka as midfield cover, unless they secure an adequate replacement. That uncertainty has put Onyeka’s future in a delicate balance.

At international level, Onyeka have fought his way back into the plans of new Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle. After missing out on March’s World Cup qualifiers, he was recalled for the Unity Cup in May and the friendly against Russia in June — seemingly cementing his place ahead of crucial September qualifiers.
Since making his debut in 2020, Onyeka has amassed 32 caps and one goal for Nigeria. He was a key part of the squad that reached the final of the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations.
With his international spot no longer guaranteed and competition fierce in midfield, Onyeka is eager to secure a move where regular first-team football is guaranteed. This summer could define the next phase of his career, both for club and country.
