Victor Osimhen’s teen cousin set to leave Galatasaray five months after departing Nigeria

Victor Osimhen may soon find himself sharing the Galatasaray departure spotlight with a familiar face — his teenage cousin, Adegoke Mayowa Samuel, Soccernet.ng reports.

While the Nigerian international’s explosive form in Turkey has attracted intense interest from Europe and beyond, fresh reports suggest Mayowa Samuel, who joined Galatasaray’s U17s earlier this year, could also be on the move.

Osimhen, currently on a season-long loan at Galatasaray, has lit up Turkish football with 33 goals and eight assists across all competitions, helping drive the club towards a potential domestic double.

His performances have put him firmly on the radar of top Premier League clubs including Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool. However, hefty wage demands may complicate a quick Premier League switch.

Still, interest remains strong from Saudi Arabian clubs, who are reportedly willing to meet his salary expectations. Yet, uncertainty lingers over whether the 25-year-old is ready to leave Europe.

Meanwhile, Mayowa Samuel — the striker Osimhen personally recommended to Galatasaray in January — is now making headlines of his own. The 17-year-old has impressed in the club's youth setup, drawing praise and attracting offers from several Turkish clubs.

Turkish journalist Hakan Gündoğar on Arma Sports’ YouTube channel confirms that there are interests in the younger Nigerian.

“Osimhen’s cousin, who plays in the U17 team, is leaving. Mayowa Samuel… he plays as a centre forward,” Gündoğar said as per Habersarikirmizi.

Gündoğar added: “There are offers, there are offers… All Anatolian clubs are interested. He has incredible suitors. Scouts were knocking on Galatasaray Club's door every day. They brought Osimhen in January saying he was a ‘good football player'. Everyone at the facility called the boy ‘Little Osimhen'.”

Mayowa’s rise has been rapid and surprising, especially considering he only left Nigeria five months ago. That surge has now prompted serious discussions about a summer move, with Galatasaray potentially losing both the senior and junior members of the Osimhen family in the same window.

As for Victor Osimhen, a summer of transfer drama looms once again. While his next destination remains unclear, he will no doubt take satisfaction in seeing his younger cousin’s path begin to mirror his own, both in talent and attention.
