Manchester United legend Andy Cole has identified three standout qualities that make Victor Osimhen a perfect fit to lead the Red Devils' attack next season, Soccernet.ng reports.

With United struggling for goals and eyeing a new centre-forward this summer, the club has been heavily linked with the Nigerian star, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli.

Cole believes United need experience up front — and sees Osimhen as the complete package.

The former Man United striker is impressed by Osimhen's old-fashioned goal sense, ability to lead the attack, and experience across various leagues – qualities that would make the Nigerian stand out at Old Trafford.

“If that happened, I think that would be a real positive signing,” Cole told OLBG via MEN.

“He's an experienced player who played in the Italian league and is now playing in Turkey. He can score goals and leads the line extremely well. He's a bit of an old-fashioned centre-forward and I think that's what Manchester United could do with now up front – that little bit of experience. If that did materialise, that would be a very good move.”

United's issues in attack have been glaring this season. They've scored just 39 goals in 34 Premier League games, with chief striker Rasmus Hojlund netting only four league goals.

The young Dane, signed two summers ago, has struggled to consistently deliver, and his backup, Joshua Zirkzee, has also found goals hard to come by since arriving from Bologna.

United have also been keeping an eye on Ipswich Town forward Liam Delap, who has impressed with 12 Premier League goals this season. But Cole has cautioned that the club cannot rely solely on youthful potential anymore.

“In Manchester United’s case, they’ve got two young strikers now who have found it really difficult, and I think they’re at that stage now where a little bit of experience would do them really well,” Cole added.

“I’ve already mentioned someone like Osimhen, someone who's got that experience to play at a club like Manchester United and score goals throughout their career.”

Osimhen has scored goals wherever he has played — whether in Ligue 1 with Lille, Serie A with Napoli, or now in Turkey.

At Galatasaray, the 26-year-old has contributed an astonishing 37 goals and assists in 36 matches this season, helping the Turkish giants edge closer to a domestic double.
