Fenerbahce have reportedly reached an agreement with Napoli for the summer transfer of Victor Osimhen, but Turkish football insiders suggest the striker’s future is far from settled, Soccernet.ng understands.

Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has enjoyed a spectacular season in Turkey, scoring 33 goals and providing eight assists in 38 appearances.

However, his future remains a topic of intense speculation following a breakdown in his relationship with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

According to Turkish outlet Hurriyet as per Goal, Fenerbahce have made a surprise move for the Nigerian international, tabling a €75 million offer to Napoli in hopes of luring the forward across Istanbul to their side of the city.

The figure reportedly meets Napoli’s financial demands, but the final decision rests with Osimhen himself — and that’s where Fenerbahce may run into trouble.

Despite their aggressive move in the transfer market, Turkish football pundit Ersin Düzen has poured cold water on the prospect of the deal going through, stressing that Osimhen is unlikely to be swayed by financial incentives alone.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, as cited by Habersarikirmizi, Düzen stated:

“If Osimhen will not stay at Galatasaray, it will not be because of money. Galatasaray fans should know this clearly. The only reason Osimhen will not stay at Galatasaray is if a top European team is interested in him.”

Düzen also addressed the emotional bond the Super Eagles striker has forged with Galatasaray and its supporters, making it clear that a switch to bitter rivals Fenerbahce would not only be unlikely — it would be deeply unpopular.

“Osimhen says, ‘I am grateful to Galatasaray. The love between us is very different.' Such a bond, such a love is not experienced with everyone,” Düzen continued.

“Galatasaray did not only transfer a great football player, they also transferred a great character. If the separation is finalized, it would be very, very sad to say goodbye to such a player.”

With his electric form in the Turkish Süper Lig, Osimhen has attracted interest from major clubs across Europe.

Manchester United and Chelsea are among those said to be monitoring his situation, with reports suggesting that preliminary talks have already begun.

Any potential move to Fenerbahce, therefore, seems to hinge not on money or availability — but on ambition.

Fenerbahce's attempt to secure the striker would be one of the biggest coups in their history, but as Düzen clarified:

“Even if Fenerbahçe reaches an agreement with Napoli, it does not mean they will transfer Osimhen. Osimhen's decision is important.”

The 26-year-old’s stock has never been higher, and with only a few games left in the season, he remains focused on helping Galatasaray complete a domestic double — a feat that would only further enhance his legendary status at the club.

Though a dramatic summer lies ahead, Osimhen’s next move will likely come down to footballing ambition rather than money.

And while Fenerbahce’s €75 million bid might meet Napoli’s valuation, convincing the player to switch allegiances in Istanbul will be a far greater challenge.
