Super Eagles: Transfer battle looms as two clubs eye Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, has piqued the interest of two European clubs who are looking to bolster their squad for the coming season, Soccernet.ng reports.

A transfer showdown is brewing for Okoye, with Premier League side Bournemouth and Italian giants AC Milan reportedly vying for his signature.

The Udinese shot-stopper has become a hot prospect following a string of standout performances in Serie A, prompting both clubs to step up their interest ahead of the summer window.

The Nigerian international has been in fine form for Udinese this season, establishing himself as the club's first-choice goalkeeper and drawing the attention of top European clubs.

According to reports from Africafoot, Bournemouth have stepped up their pursuit and are eager to finalise a deal for the Nigerian international as quickly as possible.

The English club is said to have already tabled a €13 million (approx. 23 billion naira) bid for the shot-stopper, as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2025/2026 Premier League campaign.

Meanwhile, AC Milan, who previously showed interest in Okoye, are also monitoring the situation closely. Per Africa Foot, the Rossoneri had attempted to bring the former Sparta Rotterdam keeper to the San Siro in 2023 but failed to reach an agreement with Udinese.

While Udinese may be reluctant to lose a key figure, the club could be tempted by a substantial offer for the goalkeeper, who still has several years (Jun 30, 2028) left on his contract.

If rumours are true, Okoye might be joining other Super Eagles stars like Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, Taiwo Awoniyi and a host of others in the Premier League, or don the same colour as Samuel Chukwueze at AC Milan.
