Former Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi, has made a stunning admission about the future of Galatasaray forward, Victor James Osimhen, Soccernet.ng reports.

The former Chelsea midfielder has made it apparent that he wants the Napoli loanee to join his former side as he yearns for a Drogba-esque striker in Chelsea’s attack.

Osimhen on the other hand, is fully focused on winning the Turkish Super Lig title with Galatasaray before making a big transfer decision when the transfer window opens in the coming summer.

Osimhen has scored 31 goals in all competitions for Okan Buruk’s side, and he’s a target for several clubs due to his impressive form in front of goal.

What Mikel said about Osimhen’s future

“He wants to play for Chelsea. I hope he’ll be playing his football next season somewhere in the Premier League. I hope he comes.

“I know where we stopped with the contract. I know where we are. It’s an easy fix because we’ve done all the hard work last summer.

“It’s just easy to pick it up and ask if the deal is okay. I don’t specifically know where he’ll be playing next season, but we’ll wait and see.

“If the Chelsea deal doesn’t happen, Manchester United could well be in the frame, or Arsenal. If United don’t make European football, then he doesn’t go there,” the two-time English Premier League winner said on punditry duties with Bein Sports.

While Mikel admits he’s unsure where Osimhen will end up next season, he insists Chelsea need the 2023 CAF Player of the Year to elevate their attack.

“This guy does what he does best. He scores goals, and that’s what we’ve lacked this season. When you look at our team, Chelsea, we are one of the teams to have missed the biggest chances this season.

“We don’t score enough, and that’s why we are where we are today. We add Osimhen, he does what he does. He scores goals, and wins you trophies, and puts you in the top four,” the AFCON 2013 winner concluded.

Chelsea’s season could still end on a high note if they make the top four in the English Premier League and seal victory in the UEFA Conference League.
