Egyptian maestro Mohamed Salah has officially signed a contract extension at Liverpool, ending all the speculations that he could exit Liverpool in the summer, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 32-year-old winger has been the major attacking outlet at Anfield since he joined the club from Roma in July 2017. However, there have been a lot of talks that he could leave Liverpool in the summer, with his deal set to expire at the end of the season.
Salah has been asking for bigger pay and a multiple-year contract, and that is what has delayed the process despite his impressive haul of 32 goals and 22 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.

With Salah’s future in the balance, Liverpool have been linked with Nigerian stars Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen. But nothing concrete has happened yet. And now that Salah has agreed on a new two-year deal, there might be some changes.
What happens now that Salah has extended his contract?
Now that Salah has extended his deal, Liverpool might soft-pedal in their pursuit of a new forward. Lookman has been touted as a potential replacement in recent weeks following his impressive performances for Atalanta which has seen him produce 50 goals and 22 assists in 112 appearances across all competitions.

However, the Reds might not move for him just yet because he will not want to sit on the bench and play second-fiddle after all his achievements at Atalanta. But they could push for the deal if Luis Diaz leaves, as that will open a vacancy on the left wing, which is Lookman’s main position.
Meanwhile, Liverpool might still prioritise a transfer for Victor Osimhen. The Reds desperately need a new striker, as Darwin Nunez has been poor this season, while Diogo Jota has been inconsistent due to his injury problems.
If they can get Nunez off their books in the summer, they will have enough money to finance a deal for Osimhen, which will cost them around 75 million euros.
But they would have to fight off interest from close rivals Chelsea, who look like the most likely destination for Osimhen at the moment. Liverpool are known to be very discreet in their transfer dealings, and they might even have something in the pipeline already. But in the coming weeks, everything will become clearer.
