Super Eagles and Rangers defender, Leon Aderemi Balogun, has inspired his club teammates ahead of their UEFA Europa League quarter-final clash against Athletic Bilbao, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Gers have been poor domestically this season. Celtic are running away with the League title while Rangers have also been knocked out of the League Cup.
With the UEFA Europa League left to play for, the veteran defender has urged the Rangers players to do better to end their season on a high.

“We were all fairly clear about the fact we are now in a quarter-final. It is separate from what’s happening domestically, and we need to focus on that. There is a massive opportunity for the players and the club.

“It’ll be a challenge tomorrow as they have some real good quality [in attack], but this is what you embrace. It is what you expect; it is the quarter-final of the Europa League, and that’s massive.
“They are special, and a lot of things can happen. It’s about bravery, backing yourself, believing in yourself, reminding yourself what you’re capable of, and then enjoying it,” the former Brighton and Hove Albion said in the pre-match conference.

“Of course, I’m excited about taking him on. Definitely. It’s going to be a big challenge for any player in the world who plays against him these days, and I think it’s a privilege to be able to play against these types of players.
“These are the kinds of games you dream of as a young boy, so we’ll embrace it and take some joy out of it as well,” the 2019 AFCON bronze medal winner concluded.
