“I’ll give the money” – Fenerbahce plot stunning Victor Osimhen raid from Galatasaray as director vows to pay up

Fenerbahce board member Hakan Safi has declared his readiness to personally finance a sensational move for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen — a deal that would rock Turkish football to its core, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen is currently enjoying a stunning loan spell at Galatasaray, where he has become a transformative force.

The Nigerian has been directly involved in 38 goals in just 36 matches, powering the reigning Turkish champions towards a potential domestic double and earning cult status among fans.

Galatasaray’s gain has been Fenerbahce’s pain.

The Yellow Canaries, poised to finish second behind their bitter rivals yet again, have watched Osimhen’s brilliance with envy.

That frustration appears to have boiled over into ambition, with Safi now determined to snatch the Napoli-owned striker away — even if just for a season.

“Fenerbahçe Manager Hakan Safi has a request to transfer Osimhen. He says, ‘Let’s join forces and make the transfer.’ He says, ‘I’ll give the money if necessary,’” Turkish journalist Ahmet Ercanlar revealed via DeparSports.

Fenerbahce had previously passed up the opportunity to sign Osimhen on loan last summer, opting instead to splash out on Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri from Sevilla.

Galatasaray swooped in to secure Osimhen, committing to the financial demands of the deal — a decision that has proven to be a masterstroke.

Now, Safi — who also backs Fenerbahce’s basketball operations — is urging fellow board members to act swiftly in pursuit of the Super Eagles star, convinced he can help the club match Galatasaray's financial firepower.

However, prising Osimhen away from their arch-rivals will be anything but straightforward. Galatasaray are already pushing to make his stay permanent, underlining just how critical the 26-year-old has become to their plans.

And then there’s interest from abroad.

Osimhen, the first African to win the Serie A Golden Boot, remains a top priority for several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea. United boss Ruben Amorim is particularly keen, reportedly making Osimhen a leading summer target.
