Super Eagles defender Ola Aina could return to action for Nottingham Forest just in time for their crucial English FA Cup game against Manchester City on Sunday, Soccernet.ng reports.

Three weeks ago, Aina was forced off the pitch in the first half of Nottingham Forest’s 1-0 win over Manchester United. It was eventually confirmed that he had suffered a calf injury and that has kept him out of action since then.

He has missed the Tricky Trees’ last three games Aston Villa, Everton and Tottenham. Heading into the game against Spurs on Monday, coach Nuno Espirito Santo had given an inkling that the Super Eagles star was close to making his return. However, he did not make the matchday squad.

Now, according to Premier League injury expert, Aina could just make it back in time for Forest’s game against Manchester City.

Coach Nuno Espirito Santo would need all the firepower that he can get, as the Cityzens have been in fine form in recent weeks, winning five of their last six games.

Nottingham Forest and Manchester City have already played twice in the Premier League this season with both teams winning one game apiece, and Aina featured in both games.

Nonetheless, even if Aina is passed fit for the fixture, he might not be start because he has been out for a while.
