“Absolutely incredible”- Celtic boss identifies Ademola Lookman as Atalanta’s biggest threat in UCL clash

Celtic coach Brendan Rodgers has showered glowing praises on Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman ahead of their UEFA Champions League clash on Wednesday, Soccernet.ng reports.

Atalanta will lock horns with Celtic in their third game of this season's UEFA Champions League. It is a crucial game for both clubs, as they have both won just one of their first two games.

Going into the game, La Dea are slight favorites due to their quality. Lookman has been their star man since last season and has even scored in the Champions League this season.

Recall that coach Brendan Rodgers worked with Lookman when they were both at Leicester City. Now, ahead of Celtic's game at Atalanta, Rodgers has showered praises on Lookman.

“He’s an absolutely brilliant young player. We stayed in contact and when I was at Leicester, we wanted to bring in another winger and inquired about his availability when he was at Red Bull,” Rodgers said.

“And he came in and he was absolutely brilliant for me in that season, he was there, he scored some outstanding goals. I remember a great individual goal against Liverpool.”

“When he came to Leicester, you could see everything he was. He leads his life in the right way. Everything is geared towards being the best he can be.

“Watching him in that Europa League final, the goals he scored were not by accident. He’s so balanced. He can shoot up his right foot the same as his left foot. He’s an absolutely incredible young professional. To see him score the hat-trick in the final last year was absolutely amazing.”

Lookman will be looking to add to his tally at the Bergamo Stadium and help La Dea claim the much needed win.
