Kelechi Iheanacho: Fenerbahçe’s pursuit of Leicester City star intensifies as Bright Osayi-Samuel emerges as secret weapon

The former QPR star has the desire to go to England, but he has been tasked to help convince his international teammate to quit England and move to Turkey

Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel as emerged as the key weapon Fenerbahçe want to deploy to convince Leicester City forward, Kelechi Iheanacho to sign for the Turkish club, Soccernet.ng understands.

Fenerbahçe are reportedly interested in signing Iheanacho possibly during the winter transfer window or when he becomes a free agent in the summer.

The Turkish giants have made little headway so far in their desire to acquire the Leicester striker, with the Nigerian forward keen on focusing on his job with the Foxes. Iheanacho, Leicester City joint-top goalscorer, is leading their charge at the top of the Championship table.

However, Fenerbahçe may have employed Osayi-Samuel to help boost their ratings in the eyes of his international teammate.

As per Fotospor, Osayi-Samuel had small transfer talks with Iheanacho during the recent international break, attempting to lure him to Fenerbahçe.

The former Queens Park Rangers defender allegedly conveyed to Iheanacho that Fenerbahçe were actively seeking a younger striker as a long-term replacement for Edin Dzeko.

Iheanacho, a pivotal figure for Leicester City in their quest for an immediate return to the English Premier League, finds himself in the crosshairs of Fenerbahçe as his contract with the Foxes nears expiration.

Leicester City were relegated to the Championship at the conclusion of the 2022/23 season.

With the Wing-back playing a behind-the-scenes role, his influence could bolster Fener’s chances of securing the services of the goal-scoring sensation.
