This season, the Nigerian sensation has 10 goals in 29 games for Cremonese
Super Eagles attacker Cyriel Dessers has suddenly emerged as Cremonese’s last hope of avoiding relegation.
The Nigerian forward, who signed with the Violins last summer, has scored six Serie A goals, which has been essential in their fight to avoid being demoted to Serie B.
The Super Eagles attacker was instrumental on Friday night and will probably make an effort to keep Cremonese in Serie A in the last minutes.
After their humiliating defeat to Atalanta BC at the Giovanni Zini Stadium, the Cremona fans were gearing up for at least a year in Serie B.
But on Saturday, the first indications of improvement were shown when Dessers assisted in the dramatic 3-2 victory against Sampdoria, giving the supporters renewed optimism.
The Tigers once again defeated Empoli this past weekend, moving one step closer to a miracle escape from relegation. Dessers was the game’s hero after scoring the game-winning goal after only four minutes.
A long pass from Leonardo Sernicola was well handled by the Nigerian international between two defenders, and he then tapped the ball between the keeper’s knees.
U.S Cremonese’s slim chance of not relegating this season lies on a Nigerian technical striker, @CyrielDessers, whose crucial assist and a goal, as earned the Violins 6 points so far.

With their second victory this week, Cremonese closes the distance to the safe seventeenth spot to seven points. If they continue in this vein, Davide Ballardini’s team may be able to stay in Serie A.
