Following his great performance for Napoli so far this season, Super Eagles player Victor Osimhen has been linked with a transfer away from the Diego Maradona stadium.

Soccernet.ng understands that top European clubs like Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing the Super Eagles’ star, who has scored 26 goals and provided five assists in 31 appearances for the Gli Azzurri this season.

However, Didier Drogba, the 24-year-old’s hero, has forewarned the Nigerian that the French giants would not aid in the advancement of his career.

It should be noted that Osimhen, failed to conceal his affection for Drogba, admitting in a video released on the team’s social media page that he loves the way the player plays while at Chelsea and believes he is the best.

Having been touched by the gesture, Drogba then revealed to the public that he has spoken with the Napoli player a few times and has offered him his support during a discussion on the Champions League on Canal+ Sports.

“I know that Osimhen described me as his model. We never met but one day I wrote to him complimenting him. I sent him a message and told him to continue like this.” Drogba earlier said.

The former Ivory Coast international recently sparked discussion about Osimhen’s potential move to another club, which the Parthenopeans won’t be able to prevent once the summer transfer market opens.

Osimhen, who has not yet commented on his transfer rumours, has said that he would speak with his agent after the 2022–23 season.

Drogba, who he considers to be his idol, might, nevertheless, have a significant influence on his choice to leave Naples for good.

The Nigerian attacker has been persuaded by Drogba, Austin Jay Jay Okocha, and Thierry Henry to think about playing in the English Premier League as his next stop. The advice of his hero, Didier Drogba, might inspire the forward to sign with the Blues.

However, despite Drogba’s influence, the Nigerian could decide against following in the footsteps of his idol and instead explore moving to Bayern Munich, he is expected to thrive.
