Moses has been out injured since August 2022, but he is set to return to action for Spartak Moscow soon
Super Eagles legend Jay-Jay Okocha believes that Victor Moses could be the difference maker for Spartak Moscow in their push for the Russian league.
Moses had a great start to the season for Spartak Moscow. The retired Super Eagles winger scored two goals in his first four games for the Moscow giants.
Unfortunately, Moses ruptured his achilles tendon very early in the season in Spartak Moscow’s league game against Ural.
However, the former Chelsea man has returned to training and should be able to at least make the bench when the Gladiators play Ural in their first league game of the year.
Spartak Moscow currently sit second in the league, six points behind leader Zenit. They dominated the league in the 90s but they have only won the league three times since 2000.
The Gladiators have not won the Russian League since 2017. However former Super Eagles star Okocha believes that Moses could be the x-factor for Spartak Moscow this season.
“Victor(Moses) is a great football player who played at a high level at Chelsea and is now showing his worth at Spartak,” Okocha said in an interview with Sport24.
“It is a pity that he has an injury, but I want to wish him only the very best.
“I am sure that when he recovers from the injury and returns to the squad, he will help Spartak become the champion,” Okocha added.
Moses was part of the team that won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2013. However, he retired from international football in 2018.
Moses is recovering well from the injury that necessitated surgery and has been included in Spartak Moscow’s traveling team for a training camp in Abu Dhabi prior to the RPL’s return.
