Super Eagles legend Jay-Jay Okocha has taken centre stage in the unveiling of Eintracht Frankfurt's new adidas away kit for the 2026/2027 season, rekindling memories of one of the club's most iconic eras, Soccernet.ng reports.
The former Nigeria captain, widely regarded as one of the greatest players to wear the Eagles shirt, was chosen alongside current skipper Robin Koch to present the Bundesliga club's latest jersey.
Frankfurt's new white away jersey pays tribute to the club's rich history, featuring the famous eagle crest used during the 1980s and early 90's, a period closely associated with the club's successful era.

Jay-Jay Okocha models Frankfurt's away jersey
Although Okocha never played in an all-white Frankfurt kit during his time at the club between 1992 and 1996, the 52-year-old admitted the colour holds a special place in his heart because of what it represents. Watch the video here.
Never gone.
Always Eintracht.

“It's a great honour for me to be able to present the away shirt for Eintracht – a beautiful and special one,” the ex-PSG man said.

“I never actually played all in white for Eintracht, but for me the colour is closely associated with the successes in the 70s and 80s, which were still very present when I arrived in Frankfurt.
“I did get to wear the particular eagle from that period, though. I owe a huge amount to the club. In Frankfurt, I learned everything I needed to become a professional player.
“We played the best and most attractive football in Germany at that time – ‘Fußball 2000'. We had a great team and a strong spirit, which I hope for the team this season too – with an incredibly nice away shirt!”
Frankfurt described the new adidas design as a celebration of the club's heritage, with the retro eagle serving as the focal point of a jersey intended to bridge past and present. The Bundesliga side also noted that many of their most memorable European and domestic performances came while wearing white.

Okocha's enduring Frankfurt legacy
Okocha remains one of the most beloved foreign players in Eintracht Frankfurt's history despite spending just four seasons at the club.
The Nigerian magician made over 100 appearances for Die Adler, dazzling supporters with his extraordinary dribbling ability, flair and creativity before earning a then-club record move to Fenerbahce in 1996.
His spectacular solo goal against Karlsruher SC and his unforgettable performances alongside the likes of Anthony Yeboah continue to be celebrated by Frankfurt supporters nearly three decades later.
Even after spells with Paris Saint-Germain, Bolton Wanderers and Hull City, Okocha's bond with Eintracht Frankfurt has remained strong, making him a fitting choice to headline the launch of the club's latest retro-inspired jersey.
