The Nigeria international was among the goalscorers as the Black and Blues sealed a fine away win at the weekend
Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini has hailed Ademola Lookman’s technique and pace after the Super Eagles winger powered the club to a 2-0 win at Empoli.
Lookman netted the second goal of the encounter just before the hour-mark to double Atalanta’s advantage after Hans Hateboer had given the Blue-Blacks a first-half lead at the Stadio Castellani.
It was the Nigeria international’s fifth goal for Atalanta since joining from RB Leipzig on a permanent deal in the summer.
It would be recalled that Lookman scored his first goal for Gasperini’s side on his debut in the 2-0 victory over Sampdoria on August 13.
And the Italian manager has voiced how great he has found working with Lookman since he walked into the club.
“Lookman has scored five goals and always gave a strong contribution to the team,” Gasperini told Sky Italia after the game.
“He has technique, pace, is a player any coach would be happy with. We realised pretty quickly what he was capable of, he was convincing from the start.”
Lookman is Atalanta’s top goalscorer in Serie A with five goals. The former Everton man has also chilled in an assist in 12 league appearances.
