Super Eagles star faces Turkish Super Lig ban before Trabzonspor vs Galatasaray clash

Trabzonspor are set to host Süper Lig champions Galatasaray at Papara Park in two weeks, and there is a possibility that none of the three Super Eagles players across both squads will be available for the fixture, Soccernet.ng reports.

​Already, strikers Paul Onuachu and Victor Osimhen have been ruled out of the encounter due to injuries. Osimhen suffered a thigh injury last week in Galatasaray's 3–2 win at Istanbul Basaksehir, while Onuachu picked up a muscle strain in Trabzonspor's 5–0 rout of Gençlerbirliği.

​Both players will be sidelined until after the international break. Meanwhile, Trabzonspor have another Super Eagles star, Chibuike Nwaiwu, who might also miss the game against Galatasaray on September 19. However, his situation is not due to injury, but disciplinary trouble.

​According to Turkish outlet Sporx, the 23-year-old centre-back could miss the Galatasaray fixture if he is booked in Trabzonspor's match against Konyaspor this weekend.

​Nwaiwu has been shown three yellow cards this season, and according to Süper Lig rules, one more card will earn him an automatic one-match ban.
