Several La Liga teams are aware of the scoring ability of the Nigeria international who has never played in the Spanish top flight
UD Almeria could have a bidding war on their hands after fellow La Liga campaigners Getafe FC joined the race for Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq.
According to Estadio Deportivo, Getafe confirmed their interest in Sadiq by offering €20 million to Almeria for the big targetman.
However, that bid will likely be rejected as that transfer fee is roughly ten million euros short of Almeria’s valuation of the Super Eagles striker.
Getafe’s offer is coming just hours after Villarreal reportedly submitted a bid for Sadiq. Villarreal have followed Sadiq all summer after his exploits in the Segunda Division.
And the Yellow Submarines were considered the favourites for the former AS Roma starlet before Getafe’s interest surfaced.
What is Sadiq’s stand?
It is believed that Almeria will do business with any team willing to meet their financial expectations for Sadiq.
The Super Eagles striker, however, remains focused on staying at the Mediterranean Games Stadium.
The Nigeria international has been preparing for Almeria’s last preseason friendly match against Al Hilal on Sunday.
And awaiting Sadiq next week is one of the biggest matches of his career, a La Liga clash against Primera Division champions Real Madrid.
