Flying Eagles squad: Malaga, Grassrunner, Deportivo stars included in Nigeria’s 23-man WAFU B U20 list

Flying Eagles coach Abdu Maikaba has named a 23-man squad for the upcoming Under-20 WAFU B Championship, Soccernet.ng reports.

​The tournament, which kicks off this weekend, serves as the qualifiers for the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations later this year.

​The team has already traveled to the Ivory Coast, arriving on Monday. They are currently camped in the city of Yamoussoukro, intensifying their preparations ahead of the competition's kickoff.

​The Flying Eagles are the defending champions, having defeated Ghana 2-1 in the final of the previous edition in Togo two years ago, and they will look to retain their crown this time around.

​Coach Abdu Maikaba has called up a blend of players based at home and abroad, with his squad list featuring talents from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Spain, and Croatia.

​Notable names include Lawani Clinton of Sporting Lagos, Wahab Musa from Malaga, Imrana Muhammad from Deportivo Alaves, and Auwal Muhammad from Bichi First.
