What to expect from the Portugal vs Nigeria clash

Portugal and Nigeria will meet for only the second time in senior international football when both teams take to the Estádio Municipal de Leiria.

Their only previous encounter came in November 2022 ahead of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, which Nigeria also failed to qualify for. Portugal recorded a comfortable 4-0 victory, with Bruno Fernandes scoring twice, while Gonçalo Ramos and João Mário also found the net.

The Super Eagles have received a boost ahead of the fixture with the return of Alex Iwobi and Samuel Chukwueze, following their absence in the draw against Poland.
