Super Eagles stars Samuel Chukwueze and Calvin Bassey were both in action for Fulham during their gameweek 34 clash against Aston Villa at on Saturday afternoon, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Cottagers secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory, ending a run of two games without a win. The result also lifted them back into the top half of the table and strengthened their push for an European finish.
Ryan Sessegnon got the decisive goal few minutes before halftime, finishing off a rebound, as Fulham recorded their 14th league win of the season.

Fulham went into the game without influential Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi, who missed out due to an injury sustained in last weekend’s draw with Brentford.
Meanwhile, Chukwueze and Bassey were involved from the start as the West London club pushed closer to a possible return to European football for the first time since the 2011–12 season.
Fulham started on the front foot and created the better chances early on. Chukwueze nearly made his mark in the 25th minute, but his effort was well saved by Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez.

Both Bassey and Chukwueze played key roles in the victory, making their 27th and 22nd appearances of the season respectively.
Super Eagles defender Bassey delivered a solid defensive performance, partnering Joachim Andersen to keep the likes of Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers quiet. The defender recorded the most touches for Fulham (77), maintained a passing accuracy of 84% and made six defensive contributions. He also won all his aerial duels and finished with a 7.0 rating on Sofascore.
Chukwueze, on the other hand, was one of Fulham’s standout performers before he came off for Oscar Bobb in the 76th minute. The winger created two chances, made five ball recoveries and had a shot that tested Martínez in the first half. His overall display earned him a 7.4 rating on Sofascore as one of Fulham’s highest-rated players.

The performances of Calvin Bassey and Samuel Chukwueze against Aston Villa will come as a major boost for Chelle, who will be encouraged to see two of his key players returning to top form at a crucial time for the national team.
Bassey, in particular, stood out with a solid display at the back, dictating play and registering the most touches of any Fulham player. Chukwueze was also very lively in attack and both players have definitely played themselves into contention for a role should Chelle opt for a shake-up ahead of the tournament.
For now, their focus will be on maintaining this impressive form and helping Fulham push for European qualification as the season enters its final phase, with a tough test against Arsenal coming up next weekend.
