PSG vs Bayern – Boniface and other Nigerian fans react to UCL semi-final nine-goal thriller

Super Eagles and Werder Bremen striker Victor Boniface spawned a reaction to Paris Saint-Germain's 5-4 win over Bayern Munich in the UCL semi-final on social media last night, Soccernet.ng reports.

Luis Enrique's side welcomed the Bundesliga Champions to Parc des Princes, and while Bayern took the lead through Harry Kane, PSG went into the half-time with a 3-2 lead, courtesy of goals from Ousmane Dembele, Joao Neves and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, although Olise scored Bayern's second.

The second half saw the home side extend the lead to five goals, with Dembele and Kvaratskhelia raking in doubles for themselves.

However, Bayern were relentless. Luis Diaz and Upamecano stepped up again to ensure they reduced the deficit heading into the second leg at the Allianz Arena in Munich next week.

Paris Saint-Germain vs Bayern leaves fans speechless

“I don't think I even have to watch a game tomorrow. I've seen enough for today. Both teams went for it. The last time PSG conceded four goals was 2020,” Chris said.

“Always wondered if Bayern could turn up away from home, but going from 5-2 to 5-4 was truly incredible. Kompany had so much aura,” he continued.

“Kompany's first big job is Bayern, and the rest has been history. He learned from Pep Guardiola, I wonder what Mikel Arteta was doing,” Chukwuma Henry opined.

“Luis Diaz broke Marquinhos' back. That's what we want on display in the Champions League. This game was a worthy final; no one respected anyone, they went all out for it,” Godfrey Peter said.

“Harry Kane, Olise, and Luis Diaz have accounted for over 100 goals this season. They're immense. This PSG team are unbelievable. We watch boring football in the Premier League; this game is peak,” Daniel Alexander concluded.

The second leg of the tie will be played at the Allianz Arena next week Wednesday, with the winner progressing to the final that'll be played at Puskás Aréna in Budapest, Hungary on the 30th of May.
