Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi was the victim of a robbery at his London residence on Monday night, Soccernet.ng reports.
According to accounts, intruders burgled his home and held him at knifepoint before carting away several personal belongings.
The robbers stole his expensive jewelry, luxury watches, a MacBook, two iPhones, and an estimated £200,000 in cash. The total value of the stolen items is approximately £500,000.

After taking the items while holding Iwobi under duress, the assailants fled the scene. Fortunately, the 29-year-old midfielder was not physically harmed during the ordeal. However, by the time the police arrived, the culprits had already escaped.
This is a terrible experience for the Nigerian international, who is a firm fan favorite at Craven Cottage. Iwobi has been a consistent performer for Fulham since arriving from Everton in a €25.7 million (£22m) deal in 2023.

As of press time, the police have not identified or apprehended the suspects. Fans and teammates alike are hoping the perpetrators are caught soon so that justice can be served for the Super Eagles star.
Alex Iwobi: Will This Affect His Participation in the Super Eagles' Games?
The psychological impact of this incident on Alex Iwobi is not yet fully known, but such an ordeal would undoubtedly leave anyone in shock. As a result, his participation in the Super Eagles' upcoming friendly games is now in doubt.
Recall that coach Eric Chelle named him in his 23-man squad to face Jordan and Iran later this month. It was expected that Iwobi would play his usual key role in the midfield.
However, given the circumstances, he might consider taking some time off to recover mentally.

Alternatively, coach Chelle may grant him a chance to skip the games, especially since they are not competitive fixtures.
The Super Eagles do have midfield cover, with Dele-Bashiru already in the squad. Chelle could also hand a late invitation to another player, particularly since the matches are being played in Europe.
Regardless, the football community is hoping that the Super Eagles star bounces back from this traumatic incident quickly.
