Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is on the verge of writing his name into Galatasaray history in Europe, Soccernet.ng reports.
The powerful Nigerian forward has already scored six goals in six UEFA Champions League matches this season, a stunning return that has driven the Turkish champions into a high-profile playoff clash against Juventus.
Galatasaray’s best ever scoring season in the Champions League belongs to Burak Yılmaz, who struck eight goals during the 2012/13 campaign as the club reached the quarter-finals before losing to Real Madrid.

Osimhen now needs just two goals to draw level and three to stand alone at the top, according to Sporx.
With two legs still to play against Juventus, the 27-year-old has a real chance to break the record even if it doesn’t happen immediately in this round.
The first match will be played in Istanbul at RAMS Park, before the return game in Turin next week.
Galatasaray fans will be hoping their star striker continues his hot streak under the bright European lights.

Victor Osimhen's form gives Galatasaray belief
While Europe is the main focus right now, Osimhen’s impact has also been huge in the Turkish league.
He has scored nine goals in 16 domestic matches, helping Galatasaray stay top of the table, just three points ahead of rivals Fenerbahçe.
Manager Okan Buruk has also been pleased with how Osimhen is working alongside Mauro Icardi in attack.

After recently using only one striker for much of the season, Buruk has now allowed both forwards to play together and the results have been impressive, including a big 5-1 home win last weekend.
Looking ahead to Juventus, Buruk admitted the Italian giants will be a tough challenge, praising their quick wing play and unpredictable attacking style. Still, he believes Galatasaray are in a stronger place physically and mentally than in past European campaigns.
Galatasaray have not reached the Champions League last-16 stage in over ten years but with Osimhen in this kind of form, belief is growing fast.
If he keeps scoring, history could be made in Istanbul.
