Legendary Arsenal forward Thierry Henry has named Victor Osimhen among the elite strikers Barcelona need to make the step to the next level, Soccernet.ng reports.
The former Barcelona forward believes his old club must sign an elite centre-forward if they want to return to the very top of European football.
Henry, who enjoyed huge success during his time in Catalonia, says the Spanish giants are missing a true number nine capable of finishing the chances created by the team’s young attacking talents.

The French legend highlighted Nigerian striker Osimhen as one of the ideal options, alongside some of the world’s most proven goalscorers.
“Barcelona need a real number 9. A top-level striker,” Henry told Sport as per Barca Blaugranes.
“I am referring to formidable scorers such as Victor Osimhen, Erling Haaland or Harry Kane. Proven finishers, not prospects.”
Henry pointed to Barcelona’s struggles in front of goal this season, insisting missed opportunities have cost the team important results.
“When you have a talent like Lamine Yamal, who makes passes like that, you have to score. It’s simple. At this level, one chance is enough.
“I’ve seen games where too many chances were wasted. At Barcelona, that can’t happen. That’s what makes the difference between being competitive and being champion.”

Osimhen absent as Galatasaray take precaution
While transfer talk continues, Osimhen will not feature for Galatasaray S.K. this weekend.
The Nigerian striker was left out of the squad for the Turkish league match against Konyaspor after reporting discomfort following Galatasaray’s recent European victory over Juventus FC.
Coach Okan Buruk decided to rest the forward as a precaution ahead of a crucial UEFA Champions League play-off second leg.

Galatasaray confirmed the decision in an official statement:
“Victor Osimhen, who is complaining of pain in his right knee, has been withheld from the squad for the match against Konyaspor as a precaution.”
The club stressed there is no major concern regarding the striker’s fitness. The decision was taken mainly to ensure he is fully ready for the decisive return leg in Turin, where Galatasaray will defend their strong 5-2 first-leg advantage.
Osimhen provided two assists in that match in Istanbul to lead the Turkish giants to a historic victory.
