Super Eagles and Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen has been linked with a move to Real Madrid after Los Blancos' contract issues with Vinicius Jr, Soccernet.ng reports.

Former Juventus and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Sunday Oliseh has weighed in on the transfer links around the 26-year-old.

Soccernet.ng previously reported that some players in the Real Madrid dressing room, including Vinicius Jr, are also unhappy with head coach Xabi Alonso.

As a result, the 45-cap Brazil International has told Real Madrid that he does not want to renew his contract while his relationship with the manager remains so strained.

Due to the thick air between both parties, Real Madrid are considering parting ways with the former Flamengo winger, with an alternate plan that'll see Osimhen head to the Santiago Bernabeu.

That way, the club will free up Kylian Mbappé from his role as a centre forward and return him to his natural position on the left wing.

Real Madrid have a Vinicius Jr problem – Oliseh

The record UEFA Champions League winners drew three straight La Liga games before sealing a 3-0 win over Athletic Club last night.

Prior to their victory in San Mames, Oliseh revealed the problem the club have now might best be solved by moving Vinicius on.

“Los Blancos, in my opinion, have a Vinicius problem, and this problem is not the player's fault, or anybody's for that matter,” the 51-year-old said on Sunday Oliseh's global football insight show.

“It is just the circumstance that has made it a problem in the sense that Kylian Mbappe, one of the best players in the world, was brought in while they had another world-class superstar also playing in the position Mbappe is meant to play.

“Now, you have to prima Donas, but one has had to adapt his game to be able to play as a number nine, and he's been scoring non-stop.

“But Vinicius, this year, has been struggling, and the manager himself has had some clashes with him, and it isn't playing out well.

When you have a top team like this with top players and a new coach comes in, at a point, a balance problem comes in, and the team suffers for it.

Osimhen to Real Madrid's rescue?

Given the reports about Los Blancos‘ interests in the Nigerian, Oliseh confirmed the information. However, he didn't give too much away.

“I'm afraid one of them will have to go [Alonso or Vinicius], and I don't think it'll be the boss. There is a very strong possibility that Vinicius might have to move on, but that is not up to me.

“The club have the luxury of telling Vini to go, that way, Mbappe can go back to his natural position.

“There's a lot of talk under the ground, about the possibility of Osimhen being a candidate. I won't tell you where I got this information, but let's see how this plays out.

“When I heard it from a top personality, I was happy for the young man, but let's see what happens,” the one-time Bundesliga winner concluded.

Madrid have competition for Osimhen, though, as Paris Saint-Germain also have the former Napoli striker on their radar.
