Dutch international Emmanuel Emegha has spoken glowingly about Victor Osimhen, describing the Galatasaray star as a rare forward with attributes difficult to find at the elite level, Soccernet.ng reports.
Emegha, who will officially join Premier League giants Chelsea in the summer of 2026, currently captains Ligue 1 side Strasbourg.
Despite forging his own path in European football, the 22-year-old admits he has long admired Osimhen’s rise from Napoli standout to Galatasaray talisman.
Raised in the Netherlands by a Togolese-French father and Nigerian mother, Emegha chose to represent his country of birth on the international stage. Yet the Strasbourg striker says his heritage and upbringing have kept him closely connected to African football and especially to Osimhen’s journey.
“Yes, I think Osimhen's fantastic and I’ve been following him for a long time,” Emegha said as per AfricaTopSports.
“First at Napoli, now at Galatasaray. Watch him play: with his back to the defender, he receives an aerial ball, a pass that’s difficult to control. It’s no problem for him. He jumps two meters and controls the ball with his chest. As if it were nothing.”

Victor Osimhen’s scoring run ends as Galatasaray fall to Monaco
While the praise continues to pour in, Osimhen’s prolific run in Europe has temporarily halted.
Galatasaray saw their patchy form take a fresh hit in the Champions League following a 1–0 away defeat to Monaco in week six of the competition.
The match also marked the end of Osimhen’s remarkable eight-game scoring streak in European competitions.
The 26-year-old had scored in all five Europa League matches he featured in last season for Galatasaray, netting six times. Carrying that momentum into this year’s Champions League campaign, he contributed to the scoreline in all three appearances before the trip to France.
His tally of six Champions League goals this season brings his total to 12 in that eight-match scoring run, placing him among the tournament’s most lethal forwards.
Despite playing the full 90 minutes in Monaco, Osimhen was unable to extend the streak. Still, the Nigerian remains one of the standout performers of the competition, just months after completing his €75 million permanent move from Napoli; a club he fired to their historic 2023 Scudetto triumph, their first since the Diego Maradona era.
Osimhen, who netted a brace against Samsunspor at the weekend, will look to return to scoring ways when Galatasaray face Antalyaspor this Saturday (December 13).
That will likely be his last appearance for the Turkish giants this year before he heads to Egypt where he is expected to join Nigeria's preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Super Eagles camp for the tournament opens on December 15 with a practice warm-up match against Egypt slated for the following day.
