Flying Eagles of Nigeria defeated Saudi Arabia with a score of 3-2 to revive their hope of advancing to the next round of the FIFA U20 World Cup tournament in Chile…

Flying Eagles midfielder, Daniel Daga, has expressed his delight after helping the team secure a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Saudi Arabia at the ongoing 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup, Soccernet.ng reports.

Aliyu Zubairu’s boys bounced back strongly from their opening-day defeat to Norway, but they were made to work for the points after some shaky defensive displays nearly cost them the game.

The Flying Eagles started brightly in Wednesday’s clash, with Nasiru Salihu heading home Suleiman Sani’s cross in the tenth minute.

Amos Ochoche then produced a stunning strike from a clever free-kick routine to put Nigeria back in front after Saudi Arabia had equalised through Amar Al Yuhaybi.

However, the Saudis struck again early in the second half through Talal Haji, forcing Nigeria to chase the game. Just when it seemed the tie would end in a 2-2 draw, captain Daniel Bameyi kept his composure to convert a stoppage-time penalty and seal Nigeria’s first points of the tournament.

What Molde's Daga Said After Saudi Win

Reflecting on the encounter, Daga admitted it was far from straightforward but hailed the collective effort of the team.

“First of all, I want to say thank you to God for the victory. It was not an easy game. But at the end we got the victory. I am very happy. Thanks to the staff, the coaches and players who did it. [I am] looking forward to the next game,” he said via FIFA plus.

Daniel Daga Sets Colombia Target

Looking ahead, the talented midfielder shifted his focus to the decisive clash against Colombia, knowing another victory would guarantee a place in the round of 16.

“The next [game] is to play Colombia in the last group game, we [are] hoping to get a victory again so we can go to the next stage,” Daga added.
