The international future of Chelsea FC star, Tosin Adarabioyo, appears to be drawing closer to resolution, Soccernet.ng reports.

Fresh updates hint at a possible Super Eagles debut for the 27-year-old defender just days after making a notable appearance in Lagos, Nigeria.

Soccernet.ng sighted the towering centre-back at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), where he received a warm welcome from fans and admirers.

Nigeria or England: What is Tosin's choice?

According to sources close to the situation, the London-born is firmly on the radar of the Nigeria Football Federation ahead of the next international break.

A reliable insider noted: “We’ve got a new Eagle on the horizon, pending any last-minute changes. As for availability in September? No guarantees just yet.”

Furthermore, Soccernet.ng understands that one of the reasons the former Fulham star visited Nigeria recently was to “familiarize himself with the environment.”

Adarabioyo on Nigeria Call-Up

Adarabioyo, who played a key role in the Blues' World Cup triumph, has already made headlines for reconnecting with his roots.

He also addressed speculation about turning down Nigeria in the past, stating clearly that he never rejected the Super Eagles.

“I’ve never turned down Nigeria,” the defender said in a recent interview. “Now I’m at Chelsea in my first year… I think now is going to be the time that I need to make a decision.”

Born in England to Nigerian parents, the former Manchester City player is eligible to represent either country. While he has played for England at youth levels, he has yet to feature for the senior national team, which leaves the door wide open for a switch to Nigeria.

Eric Chelle's men are gearing up for a crucial 2026 World Cup qualifying fixture in September, and the Nigerian football community will be hoping to see if Nigeria-eligible star will be donning the Eagles' colours or waiting a little longer to make that leap.
