Lookman’s exit confirmed as Atalanta and Inter pose to resolve talks – Report

2024 UEFA Europa League winners Atalanta are edging closer to reaching an agreement with Inter Milan for Super Eagles attacker Ademola Lookman, Soccernet.ng reports. 

The 27-year-old has spoken out about the unpleasant situation he's found himself in at Bergamo, as the club is unwilling to let him leave despite him submitting a transfer request.

Inter Milan have lodged three bids for the 2024 CAF Player of the Year, and all of these offers were declined by Atalanta.

As per Inter News IT, Lookman's exit is imminent as the player is keen on forcing a move, replicating a similar scenario to that of his former teammate, Teun Koopmeiners, who did all he could to join Juventus.

The Super Eagles star has missed three consecutive training sessions, even clearing out his locker in the dressing room while abstaining from going to Germany alongside his teammates for the pre-season clash against RB Leipzig.

Lookman believes his adventure with Atalanta is over after four years, and wants to move to the San Siro, but Atalanta do not want to sell him to another Italian club.

Atalanta have no choice but to sell to Inter as Lookman has rejected all other offers. They will now set a fixed fee for the departure of the former Everton man, one that Inter Milan will hopefully match.

It is expected that their asking price will be around €50m with bonuses included in relation to future clauses.
