Super Eagles and Getafe midfielder Christantus Uche has been linked with several clubs this summer across Europe's top-five leagues, Soccernet.ng reports.

Primarily a central midfielder, the 22-year-old is versatile and can play as an attacking midfielder and a striker when needed.

Wolverhampton Wanderers were confident of sealing a deal worth around €20m for the midfielder, with plans already in place for him to undergo a medical in England.

The Midlands club are desperate to strengthen after opening the season with two defeats and losing star forward Matheus Cunha to Manchester United.

Leeds United plotting late swoop for Uche

Everything was set for Uche to move to the Molineux, but the player decided against the transfer, probably because there were better offers on the table.

However, a Premier League move could still happen before the transfer window slams shut, although Getafe players have pleaded with the two-cap Super Eagles midfielder not to leave.

As per TeamTalk, the former AD Cueta man is the subject of interest from Leeds United. Daniel Farke's side are scouring the market for a versatile attacker in the final days of the summer transfer window, and Uche has appeared on their radar.

The Whites have already parted ways with Patrick Bamford and will now compete with Crystal Palace and West Ham United for the signature of the Getafe man.

The three-time English Premier League winners secured an opening week win against Everton but were thumped by Arsenal last week, having no response to the five goals scored by Mikel Arteta's side.

Leeds view Uche as a blend of strength and creativity and are considering a late offer for him after his move to Wolverhampton Wanderers collapsed this week.

While the offer from Leeds could tempt the versatile midfielder, the Super Eagles midfielder shared a post on X yesterday, pledging his loyalty to his Getafe teammates, which in turn hints he might choose to stay in Spain for another year.
