Ademola Lookman: Why Super Eagles star’s exit won’t come cheap

Atalanta are reportedly determined to make life difficult for Ademola Lookman as the transfer saga surrounding the Nigerian forward drags into its final days, Soccernet.ng reports.

According to Nigerian journalist Buchi Laba, the Bergamo club are hell-bent on punishing the Super Eagles star and will not lower their stance.

Atalanta are demanding €50 million plus add-ons for Lookman, with the fee set even higher for Italian clubs such as Inter Milan, who previously attempted to sign him.

Atalanta Has The Final Say On Ademola Lookman

The club’s hardline position is fuelled by the fact that Lookman is not on a high wage, which means that Atalanta feel no pressure to cash in.

Instead, they are prepared to sideline the 27-year-old from the main squad until at least January if their terms are not met.

Atalanta are hell bent on Punishing Ademola Lookman and they will not lower their stance. €50m + Add ons or no deal and it’s higher for Italian clubs. He’s not on a high wage so they’re not worried.

The winger, who starred in Atalanta’s Europa League triumph two seasons ago, had submitted a transfer request to force through a move to Inter Milan, but the Nerazzurri’s offer of €42m plus €3m in bonuses fell short.

Top Clubs Monitor The Super Eagles star

Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Aston Villa are also monitoring developments, with Arsenal thought to have stepped up interest following Kai Havertz’s knee injury.

Yet with Atalanta refusing to budge, the player’s future hangs in the balance. Unless a club meets their €50m ultimatum in the coming days, Lookman could be set for a frustrating spell on the sidelines in Bergamo.
