Wilfred Ndidi has been linked with multiple clubs this summer, and a Saudi Arabian club might join the pursuit soon

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has emerged as a potential transfer target for Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli this summer, Soccernet.ng reports.

Ndidi's future has been the subject of talks this summer, especially since it was revealed that he has a clause in his contract that let's him leave Leicester City for a reduced fee of €9 million following their relegation to the English Championship.

The Super Eagles star has been linked with clubs like Manchester United, Everton, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, and Juventus. But no one has placed a bid yet.

In fact, Ndidi has been heavily involved in Leicester City's pre-season, featuring in most of the games they have played so far.

However, it appears that the talks surrounding his future will not stop any time soon. This is as transfer reporter Ben Jacobs reports that Saudi Arabian Pro League club Al Ahli are eyeing him.

They are also looking at securing the services of his teammate Bilal El Khannouss and Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma.

Ndidi's €9 million release clause is an enticing deal for Al Ahli, considering his quality. The Saudi club do not have a lot of quality options in the middle of the park, and Ndidi would give them a significant boost.

Why Wilfred Ndidi should consider a transfer to Al Ahli

Wilfred Ndidi has spent the last eight years of his career at Leicester City, and it might just be the right time for a new challenge.

The club will compete in the Championship next season, so there's no possibility of winning a big trophy there.

Ndidi has had his struggles with injuries and form, but he is still a fine player. So he can still command a place in a Premier League club or any other top-flight club in Europe.

The former Gent man will be 29 in December, which means he is closing in on the twilight of his career. A transfer to Saudi Arabia is reasonable at this point, as he should start looking to build up wealth ahead of his retirement.

Ndidi earns around €4 million at the Kings Power Stadium. But for sure, what Al Ahli will offer will be more than what he earns at Leicester City or his other suitors will offer.

The Super Eagles star still has two years left on his contract though. Leicester will hope that he stays and help them return to the Premier League.
