Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has set his sights on a dream switch to Manchester United, according to former Nigeria international Julius Aghahowa, Soccernet.ng reports.

Ndidi's desire for a move to Old Trafford comes despite strong interest from Juventus, Everton, Fulham, and Saudi side Al Ahli in his services.

The 28-year-old Nigerian star, who has just one year left on his current deal with Leicester City following their drop to the Championship, has emerged as one of the summer’s most talked-about midfield targets.

Juventus have reportedly opened negotiations with his representatives, while Premier League rivals Everton and Fulham remain in the hunt. Al Ahli are also monitoring the situation, as interest in the combative midfielder continues to grow.

But according to Aghahowa, a former Super Eagles striker and close associate of Ndidi, the player’s heart is already set on a move to Old Trafford.

“While Everton and Al Ahly are clearly interested, Ndidi hopes to join Manchester United,” Aghahowa told Africafoot.

“He wants to take a step up by signing for a big club like Manchester United. This would be an excellent move for someone I consider one of the best African midfielders of recent years. He is powerful, capable of pressing, winning back balls, and opening up the game with his long diagonal runs.”

Ndidi, who joined Leicester in January 2017, has been a pivotal figure in the club’s midfield and remains one of the Premier League's top ball-winners.

However, Leicester’s relegation has triggered a reported £9m (€10.5m) release clause, making the Nigerian international a bargain option for Europe’s elite.

Juventus are understood to be keen on reinforcing their midfield after Douglas Luiz’s underwhelming performances, and have already made initial contact with Ndidi’s agents.

Despite the increasing interest, Aghahowa insists that the Red Devils would be the perfect fit for Ndidi’s high-energy style and tactical intelligence.

“Wilfred is the player the Red Devils need in midfield,” Aghahowa added. “He is surprisingly generous and capable of repeating efforts and covering a lot of space. He would be a considerable asset to the Manchester club if the transfer were to go through.”

Leicester are reportedly open to selling the 52-cap Nigerian this summer, with hopes of recouping around £12–15 million. But Manchester United and Everton are believed to be exploring a deal closer to the £5m mark, thanks to the release clause activated by relegation.

With pre-season preparations underway and clubs eager to strengthen their squads before the campaign kicks off, Ndidi’s future is expected to be resolved in the coming weeks.
