Alvaro Morata, who joined Galatasaray from AC Milan, played a key role for the Turkish giants alongside Victor Osimhen…

Former Juventus and Chelsea forward, Álvaro Morata, has officially broken his self-imposed condition regarding Victor Osimhen’s future, as he prepares to leave Galatasaray for Serie A newcomers Como, Soccernet.ng reports.

Morata, who joined the Turkish champions on loan from AC Milan, had earlier stated that he would only stay at Galatasaray if the club retained Super Eagles striker Osimhen.

According to reports from Turkish media outlet Sabah, as cited by Nexus Sports, Morata told Galatasaray’s hierarchy:

“If you don’t replace Osimhen, I’ll stay at Galatasaray.”

However, despite Galatasaray finalizing a €75 million deal with Napoli for Osimhen—who is now due for his medical before being unveiled —Morata has chosen to leave regardless.

The Spanish striker, brought in as a short-term cover for the injured Mauro Icardi, has often expressed admiration for Osimhen.

“Osimhen is a great person and one of the best centre forwards in the world. I hope we will all celebrate the championship together. This is an incredible country; my family is very happy here, and I want it to continue like this.” In an earlier interview with Sports Digitale, he said.

Yet, despite those sentiments and Osimhen now staying, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that:

“Álvaro Morata, now set to join Como from Galatasaray as soon as all documents for Osimhen deal are signed next week. Morata has been waiting for Como for one month… and now, all set.”

Morata is expected to remain with Galatasaray until January 20, 2026, under the original terms of his loan, but that arrangement now appears to be terminated early in favour of a permanent move to Como.

Meanwhile, Galatasaray will complete the Osimhen transfer in two stages—€40 million upfront and the remaining €35 million to be paid next year—securing the services of the Super Eagles’ second all-time top scorer.
